Polaris entered the motorcycle market in 1998, the first new major manufacturer in 60 years. It celebrated its 20 years in the motorcycle business by showing off a concept motorcycle at the International Motorcycle Show in New York on Jan. 16. The Victory CORE is a concept motorcycle designed and built by the Victory Motorcycles Industrial Design team to illustrate a futuristic bike. Stripped of any traditional bodywork, it includes the essentials: an engine, frame, wheels and front suspension, without rear suspension. The concept bike’s frame is the body, incorporating fuel tank, airbox, battery box and the entire electrical system. The frame is created by pouring molten aluminum into a sand core, which is removed when the casting process is complete. Consumers might not be able to get their hands on a CORE but the company has built 100 limited edition Victory Tours to help celebrate their 20th anniversary.
